LETNIY SAD
Letniy Sad was composed at the same time as Letniy Palace which was built in 1711. Peter the Great hired the gardener Gaspar Fokht, and together they worked on the design of the park. The alleys of the garden are embellished by statues from Italy.
A lovely pond with swans can be found by the entrance to the garden from the Moika side. Near the pond there is also a vase, which was offered to Nikolai I in 1833 by the Swedish king.
A monument to the famous Russian fabulist I. A. Krylov can also be found in the garden. The great author is surrounded by different animals, characters of his works
