LOMONOSOV (ORANIENBAUM)
This unique palace consists of Bolshoi (Menshikovskiy) Palace, the fortress Petershtadt and Sobstvennaya dacha with its neighbouring Kitaiskiy Palace and Katalnaya gorka.
The palace and its annexes were built over the period 1710-1727 in baroque style. Architects such as Rastrelli, Rinaldi, Shtakensheinder were involved in this project .
Besides the main palace Lomonosov also includes Kartinniy Dom and Nizhnie Doma which were built for the palace servants.
Catherine II had her Sobstvennaya dacha built in Oranienbaum in baroque style.
Katalnaya gorka Pavilion presents unique marble floors, while Kitaiskiy Palace presents an amazing parquet floor.
